Seeker & Shadow Workshop

Finding Yourself on the Canvas

Offered as a private one-on-one experience or an intimate group retreat, in-person in Erwin, TN or virtually from anywhere. Led by Leslie Campbell — mixed media artist, certified Paint From Your Soul™ facilitator, Ravenworks Studio.

An archetypal art journey for women who feel lost, stuck, or unsure of who they're becoming — and are ready to find out. Through guided shadow and archetype work, we go inward first. Then we put it on the canvas.

Is This You? "You don't have to know who you are to walk in here. The seeker arrives exactly as she is — uncertain, searching, and already enough. The canvas doesn't ask you to have it figured out. It just asks you to show up."

  • — You're not sure who you are right now — and that unsettledness is asking for your attention
  • — You feel creatively blocked, but you sense something's trying to come through
  • — You've been in your head too long and want to make something with your hands
  • — You're curious about shadow work but prefer to come at it sideways — through art, not therapy
  • — You want to paint something that holds your actual story, not a pretty scene from Pinterest

About Leslie Campbell

Mixed Media Artist · Certified Paint From Your Soul™ Facilitator · Ravenworks Studio

I'm a self-taught mixed media artist living in the mountains of East Tennessee. I've shown work internationally — from Bulgaria to Virginia, from Arkansas to France — but the work I'm most proud of is the piece that surprised me. The one I didn't plan.

I spent 27 years as an Army wife, moving across the world, building a home and a creative life wherever we landed. Art wasn't a luxury — it was how I processed everything. The shadow parts too. The losses, the reinventions, the years of not quite knowing who I was becoming.

Now I run Ravenworks Gallery and Studio in Erwin, TN, and I'm a certified facilitator of the Paint From Your Soul™ method. I designed the Seeker & Shadow Workshop for women in the middle of that same kind of not-knowing — because I believe the canvas will meet you there in ways words can't.

"Like fingerprints, no two souls are the same. As Leslie guides you through a session, you will be surprised and amazed at what you create when it comes from your soul."

What Happens in a Paint From Your Soul™ Retreat

01

Meet the Seeker

Before you touch the canvas, we go inward. A gentle guided process to locate where you are, what you're carrying, and what wants to be seen.

02

Work with Your Shadow

Through archetypal imagery and reflective prompts, you'll excavate the parts of yourself that have been waiting in the wings — without force, without judgment.

03

Translate It Into Paint

Use layered color, texture, and symbolism to move what you found inside onto the canvas. No perfect strokes required.

04

Paint a Woman's Face

Step-by-step guidance on portraits — faces, eyes, hair — drawing on years of Leslie's own figure work. Your subject is the woman who showed up today.

05

Trust What Wants to Emerge

Learn to follow the image rather than force it. This is where your intuition gets louder than your inner critic.

06

Leave With Something Real

A completely original painting — yours, made from your own imagery, your own hand, your own truth. And a clearer sense of the woman who made it.

FAQ

Not at all. The Seeker & Shadow Workshop is for any woman who feels called — whether you haven't picked up a brush in years or you paint regularly but feel like you're painting around something. The process guides you step by step, and Leslie meets you where you are.
A 16x20" canvas, basic acrylic paints plus raw sienna for skin tones, three brushes, matte medium, and chalk. Around the house: paper towel, plastic fork, pencil and paper, a washcloth that can get painty. Full list sent after booking.
No. Paint From Your Soul™ was designed by an art therapist but is not a therapeutic service. The shadow and archetype work in this workshop is self-reflective and creative in nature. Leslie holds a steady, compassionate space if meaningful things come up — and they often do.
Shadow work, at its simplest, is the practice of getting honest about the parts of yourself you've pushed aside — the traits, fears, or stories you've decided aren't acceptable. In this workshop, we approach it gently and obliquely, through archetypal imagery and paint.
In the group you paint alongside other women and share in community. In the 1:1, you work solely with Leslie — more depth, more time, fully shaped around you. Priced by inquiry because every private retreat is built for the woman who's booking it.
No. There is no critique here. You'll share and reflect, but the work is never judged. That's not what this is for.

The seeker in you already knows the way in. This workshop just hands her the brush.

The group retreat runs once a year with very limited spots. The private Seeker & Shadow experience is available by inquiry year-round.
